We painted large pieces of paper using a range of different materials including sponges, cotton buds, cocktail sticks and paint scrappers to make our paper look interesting. We then cut out different animal shapes and reassembled them to make these gorgeous farm animals. We’ve been learning about doubling and sharing in our maths work and have enjoyed playing lots of different doubles games. We played Double Bubble with our friends by rolling two dice and shouting, “DOUBLE BUBBLE” when we rolled the same. In our Busy Bee time this week we’ve enjoyed a range of different activities. We’ve build homes for the animals in our farm tray, we’ve made sheep from cotton wool, we’ve learnt about symmetry through our doubles work and have drawn and painted ladybirds and butterflies. In our Literacy work we’ve been learning about life cycles in nature. After raising our own caterpillars in class and watching them grow and change into Painted Lady Butterflies we’ve focused on their life cycle. We sequenced pictures and wrote an accompanying sentence to go with each stage of the life cycle.
