As part of our ‘Animals’ science topic, we have been thinking about the attributes of an eagle which make them effective predators. The children have discovered:
- hooked beak
- powerful eyesight
- huge wingspan
- clamping claws
Today we added to this list ‘hollow bones’, and we thought about why having hollow bones would be a useful attribute of an eagle. Then we looked at the make up of an eagle’s bones and tried to recreate our own eagle skeleton. It was great fun!
