We have launched our reading challenge for the year. It involves logging how many books your child has read and gaining rewards at certain stages – 50 (a prize), 75 (extra golden time) and 100 books (a brand new book for them to keep)!
To encourage your child to read please try and do a little bit every day in order to advance their vocabulary. The reading banded books we send home are full of high levels of vocabulary so we encourage these books alongside any books they love to read at home.
Please make sure you are writing in the reading records when you hear your child read/finish a book so we are able to move them up the reading challenge – we reuse the reading records from the previous year so if you have one at home that is unfinished please send it in.
