Welcome back after the Easter holidays!
We have been busy in computing using our Ipads to take photos including ‘close-up’, ‘distance’ and ‘action’ photographs too!
In maths we have continued to think about fractions. We have used cubes to help us find fractions of numbers. Here we found 1/4 of 40.
We’ve also been learning how to use bar models to help us work out fractions.
E.g. 1/4 of 20 can be shown by drawing a bar (that’s worth 20) and showing it as 4 equal parts:
1/4 of 20 = 5.
Some of us used our times table and division facts to prove this. E.g. 4 x 5 = 20. 20 divided by 4 =5.
We’ve been writing instructions in literacy so we’ve been using lots of imperactive verbs (bossy verbs). We’ve also been using adverbs to help add detail to our instructions.
Adverbs like: slowly, carefully, sensible, gently etc have all helped us explain our instructions using more detail.
Finally, a very happy Eid to our classmates and families celebrating!
Thank you to our friend in Skipper 2 for sharing so many fun facts about Ramadan and Eid, and a huge thank you for sharing some delicious treats with us too!
